AnandTech: A Guide to Choosing the Right 19" LCD Monitor - 7 Models Reviewed

„Input Type: DVI, DVI, DVI. We insist that when you buy a new LCD monitor, you buy a model with DVI capability. Even if you don't want to buy a DVI-capable video card right now, it is still a wise decision to get a DVI-compatible LCD. When DVI first appeared in the industry, there were a few issues with the quality of the connectors and thus, sometimes viewing a signal over a DVI connector would give you a worse signal than over a 15-pin D-Sub connector.“http://www.anandtech.com/displays/ showdoc.aspx?i=2289&p=2 - Cached

„This product essentially replicates the specs and performance of the ever-so-scarce Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition, with a few exceptions. Yes, it carries with it a dual-slot cooler, but it comes with dual DVI outputs for driving a pair of LCD monitors without the analog conversions muddling things up. (Not all X850 XT cards will necessarily have dual DVI ports, but at least some should.) We've hassled ATI in the past about the lack of a second DVI output on a $500 graphics card, and we're pleased to see that they've responded.“http://tech-report.com/reviews/2004q4/radeon-x850xt/ index.x?pg=1 - Cached

„With the numerous configurations available, one option seems to be quite a bit more scare and that is native support for dual DVI connections for the newer CRT and LCD monitors. Most dual DVI cards are more limited two dimensional drafting / professional workstations or ultra high end graphics card but to be honest a mainstream desktop gaming card with this feature is hard to come by.“http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/dualdvi/ - Cached

„I am looking at getting a 17" LCD monitor, and was wondering in your opinion, which would be a more important feature, a faster response time or dual inputs (Analog and DVI)? Given that monitors with all those features combined would be much more expensive, I kind of have to choose one over the other. I am really not a gamer, but would like to use my LCD display for watching DVD movies occasionally on my computer.“http://experts.about.com/q/1505/3736455.htm - Cached

„Missing is the optional DVI to VGA adapter but then this is a budget card. Having a DVI output is not always available on the budget end of cards and its a welcome addition which separates this card from others and should be considered when making a purchase as LCD monitors that accept DVI are becoming increasingly popular.“http://www.techwarelabs.com/reviews/video/forsa_fx5200/ index_2.shtml - Cached

„Some Analog LCD are badly designed and some very well designed, Philips and Samsung take great care to have high quality convertors built in if the monitor does not sport a DVI connection.“http://www.pcreview.co.uk/thread-10540-1.php - Cached
