[After Gutenberg] When the charger indicator LED changes from blinking red to yellow, the battery is at 80% of full charge. Between then and when the battery reaches full charge (13.5 volts) as indicated by a green LED and the charger switches off, a lower voltage goes from the charger through the batteries to reduce ill effects from the recharging process.
